--- title: "About — Dogs Away" description: "Dogs Away helps dog owners find boarding and daycare they can trust: prices, overnight staffing, vaccine rules and ratings for 5,631 places in one search." url: "https://dogsaway.co/about/" --- [Home](https://dogsaway.co/) - / - About About Dogs Away # Leaving your dog somewhere new shouldn’t take ten phone calls. Finding a place to board your dog, or a daycare, usually means a pile of browser tabs and a round of calls. What does a night cost? Is anyone there overnight? Which shots does my dog need, and how far ahead? Can I check in while I’m away? Most of that is hard to find, and every place answers it differently. Dogs Away puts those answers in one place. Search 5,631 boarding and daycare places across 31 US cities and their suburbs, and see what each one offers before you pick up the phone. ## What you can do here - **See prices up front.** Many listings show the nightly or daily rate, and each city page shows what a night typically costs there. - **Know who is with your dog at night.** Filter for places that say a person is on site overnight. - **Get the vaccine rules before you book.** Listings show which shots are required and how far ahead, where the facility says so. - **Find the extras that matter to you.** Live cameras, a vet on site, 24-hour hours, cat boarding. - **Compare side by side.** Save the places you like and line up to four of them in one view. - **Call with the right questions.** Each listing shows what the facility has not said yet, so you know what to ask. ## Reading a listing Every place has a Dogs Away score from 0 to 10, based on what past customers say. Higher is better. A score backed by hundreds of reviews is more reliable than one backed by a few, so the review count always sits next to it. Every listing also links to the place’s own website and its Google Maps page, so you can check anything for yourself. When a listing says a detail is “not published,” it means the place doesn’t say it online. It doesn’t mean the place does it badly. Plenty of great operators just haven’t written it down, so ask. ## How many places answer up front Star ratings tell you how past customers felt. They don’t tell you who is with your dog at 3am, which vaccines you need, or what a night costs. Across our index, 16.4% of places say whether a person is on site overnight, 45.8% publish which vaccines they require, 1.4% publish a staff-to-dog ratio, and 3.2% publish what happens after an injury or fight.
